ADMISSION PROCEDURE
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION:
​
Candidates who have passed 10+2 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks for Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together / Candidates who have passed 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognized by Central/State Governments with 50% aggregate marks / Candidates with International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination are eligible to apply. In addition, candidates will have to score 35% marks (70 marks out of 200) in the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture).

TIMINGS:

The college will function from 9.15 am to 4.15 pm for all semesters. Lunch Break: 12.15 noon to 1.15 pm (12.15 noon to 2 pm on Fridays).
The administration office functions from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Saturday. Second Saturdays and Sundays are usually holidays for the college.
DRESS CODE:
All students must be neatly dressed.T-shirts, torn jeans, low waist dress, dhotis, midi, skirts, etc will not be entertained on the college campus. Students violating the rule may not be allowed on the campus and may be fined accordingly. Students must always wear their Identity Card, issued by the college, during college hours, within the campus premises.

GENERAL GUIDELINES:

No student will be allowed to take an active part in current politics.

No student shall communicate any information or write about matters dealing with the College administration to the Press.

Students are expected to take proper care of college property and help the college authorities in keeping the premises clean. Damaging college property e.g. disfiguring walls, doors, fittings or breaking furniture, misuse of fittings, or breaking furniture, misuse of A.C. etc., is a breach of discipline, and the guilty will be duly punished.

Students should not leave their books, valuables and other belongings in the classroom.

The College is not responsible for lost property. However, the Student may make a claim for lost property at the office, if it is deposited in the College Office.

Students applying for certificates, testimonials, etc. which require the Principal’s signature on any kind of document or application should first contact the College office. Students should not bring any paper directly to the Principal for his/her signature.

If in the opinion of the Principal, for any reason, the continuance of a student in the College is detrimental to the best interest of the College, the Principal may ask such a student to leave the College without assigning reason for his/her decision.

All College activities are organized under the guidance and supervision of the Principal and Professor In-Charge.

Students must not associate themselves with any activity not authorized by the College Principal. Serious action will be taken of students found organizing or participating in such unauthorized activities.

Students using unfair means at examinations will not be readmitted to the College. Actions will be initiated against such students as per the norms and procedures prescribed by the University.

It is the responsibility of the students to read the notice boards regularly for important announcements made by the College office from time to time. They will not be excused or given any concession on grounds of ignorance or not reading notices.

Disciplinary action will be taken against students found carrying and/or using cell phones
-
Pagers walkmans, Discmans, iPods, etc. on the college premises during class hours.

Matters not covered by the existing rules will rest at the absolute discretion of the Principal.

Students joining the College are bound by the rules and regulations of the College

ATTENDANCE AND LEAVE REGULATIONS:
​
Students are expected to attend all classes without fail. If for unavoidable reasons, the leave of absence is required, permission from competent authority should be taken. Applications for ordinary leave should be submitted to the class adviser concerned, for a maximum of 2 days at a time. The application will be considered only if the student submits fax from their parents or guardian. For leave application for more than two days, the Heads of Departments or Principal will have the sanctioning authority. Students can apply to the Head of Department/ Principal through the Class Adviser for leave on medical grounds, within three days of working days of returning to the college after they leave. A medical certificate should be attached with the application. The students should keep medical leave application duly sanctioned, to produce in the event of a student falling short of attendance at the end of a semester, condonation of shortage of attendance. Students are eligible for duty leave on recommendation from the class advisor, to represent the college in sports, games or any other cultural activities. Duty leave can be recommended only by the authorized faculty members. Duty leave should be submitted to the Principal, or the designated authority, preferably either before or soon after the return from duty, not later than three working days. However, for exceptional cases, such as representing University / State Athletic events, prior permission of the Principal should be obtained to get duty leave in excess of 10%. Every student is required to maintain a minimum of 75% attendance and 50% minimum separately for each subject for each semester/term, failing which the student cannot appear for the University examination. Students must not loiter around the College premises while the classes are going on. Any student violating the rule may be fined accordingly.

The rules and regulations are applicable for selection and admission to B.Arch. courses in Nizar Rahim and Mark School of Architecture promoted by Nizar Foundation, Kollam -are as follows. CRITERIA OF ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION UNDER MANAGEMENT/NRI CATEGORY Candidate must be a citizen of India. A pass in 10+2 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination or recognized as equivalent examinations with Mathematics as a subject. The aggregate percentage shall be 50% for 10+2 examinations. (Physics, Chemistry, and Maths should have a minimum of 50%) Applicant should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December 2017. No relaxation of age will be allowed.
